The purpose
of this website is to provide information about film music composers,
ranging from the golden era to the modern age of film music. For
each composer listed, you will find a biography and a filmography,
as well as additional information related to the movies scored such
as director and release date.
We've
tried to make the site as easy to navigate as possible. The links
found in the menu above provide extensive search capabilities. The
composer link leads to a search engine which allows filtering of
results based on numerous criteria. Visitors can also choose to
follow the movie link, in order to perform searches with a starting
point in the movies themselves. Thus, those unsure of who scored
a certain film will be able to find their way around more easily.
Additionally, all information is crossreferenced through extensive
links, so getting from one part of the site to the other should
be fairly simple and straightforward.
Of course,
we had to limit ourselves somewhat in the range of our coverage
- we cannot list every composer, unfortunately. Also, we decided
to only feature orchestral film scores - operas, television movies,
jazz/pop rock/compilation soundtracks and the like are not covered.
More than likely, however, you will find what you're looking for
here.
Thanks for visiting, and we hope you enjoy CinemaNotes.
